“It was a false alarm,” said David Wasserman, political analyst for The Cook Political Report. “The county was right and the state was wrong.”
After the election, New Jersey reported that Clinton had tallied 2,198,278 votes in the Garden State.
She hadn’t.
“That was a typo,” Wasserman said.
Clinton actually tallied 50,000 fewer votes — 2,148,278.
That compares to President-Elect Donald Trump’s 1,601,933 in the Garden State.
