Bergen County will provide Consumer Protection Affairs services to Passaic County residents.
In return, Bergen will receive 75 percent of all revenues from fines and penalties.
Better enforcement of the Consumer Fraud Act will help protect residents from unscrupulous business practices while saving taxpayers money, said officials from Passaic and Bergen counties.
“Bergen County has one of the best equipped and best trained Consumer Protection Divisions in the state, thanks to our investments into that division over the last two years,” said Bergen County Executive Jim Tedesco.
