Finding a new rabbi and Cantor Charles Romalis’ year-long jubilee celebration were deserving of praise.

“Both of these initiatives were huge successes," said Temple President Janice Paul. “We were thrilled to recognize the leaders of these two projects with this award.”

Joan Gottlieb and Mickie Stricker received plaques.

Gottlieb served as vice chair of the search committee, which brought in Rabbi Meeka Simerly. Gottlieb serves as co-president of Temple Beth Tikvah’s Sisterhood, Women of Chai, which she helped revive.

Stricker, a former Temple president, was the chair of the Jubilee Committee, which organized events. She currently serves on the Renaissance Club and Women of TBT committees.

A special prayer was offered for all of the volunteers, “who offer their time, their energy and their care to make the synagogue a holy place and the community a holy congregation,” Paul said.
