He created Autism Radio nine years ago and has gone on to host and produce over 300 weekly, half-hour podcasts entitled "Hope Saves The Day."
Cimins, a father of two, described the show as an interactive, open forum dealing with autism that is broadcasted internationally.
He's hosted guests such as actor Henry Winkler – The "Fonz" from Happy Days – golfer Leslie Els, and comedian Scott Long.
But the reason Cimins, a chef by trade, does all this: his non-verbal, 13-year-old son, Jonathan, who is on the autism spectrum.
In starting Autism Radio, "I decided it was time to shed more light on the mysteries of autism, while wanting to help other families with loved ones who face the daily challenges of raising an autistic child," said Cimins, whose daughter, Emily, 15, is hearing impaired.
"Its mission is to improve the lives of the individuals diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders and their friends and families, who struggle to understand, treat, care for and get the help necessary for their loved ones," he added.
Autism Radio frequently runs events, including its annual golf outing June 6 at the Piccatiny Arsenal.
