The actress who starred in the 1992 ABC series "Melrose Place" and opposite Johnny Depp in the 1990 film "Cry Baby" spoke at William Paterson University on Wednesday about the dangers of drunk driving, the station said.
The 45-year-old served 30 months in prison of a 10-year sentence for a drunken crash that killed a Montgomery woman in 2010, according to the report.
The mother of two told students she knows her sentence is a gift and she wants to spend her life preventing more lives from being lost to drunk driving, the station said.
