Four pals in their 20s started the family-style Texas Weiner grill in 1961 and it's been packed with customers seven days a week ever since.
Domenick Sportelli and Carmen LaMendola still own it today and trace the birth of the Texas Weiner to the City of Paterson.
Previous co-owners Nick Doris and Peter Leonidas have since died, according to records.
Customers typically order their hot dogs "all the way" which consists of a twice fried pork and beef Sabrett hot dog covered in mustard, chili sauce and onions.
Hot Grill's homemade chili sauce is sold by the quart and is made with beef, spices and hint of cinnamon.
The hot spot is also known for its made-fresh-daily burgers and roast beef and served-all-day breakfast.
For more information see its website.
Hot Grill is located at 669 Lexington Ave., Clifton.
