Accidental Grenade Explosion Kills Passaic-Born Israeli Soldier

PASSAIC, N.J. — Thousands of people gathered at the funeral of a Passaic-born Israeli soldier who was killed in an accidental grenade explosion, The Times of Israel reports.

The IDF’s Sgt. Shlomo Rindenow, 20, was killed on Sunday when a grenade went off near an army post on the Golan Heights, the article says. Funeral services were held Monday.

Staff Sgt. Hussam Tafesh, who was holding the grenade, also died, The Times of Israel reports.
