It wasn't an accident that slowed the lanes, though.
Rather, it was a camera crew filming an episode of "Cops" with the Paterson Police Department, several sources with direct knowledge of the show confirmed.
The show has been highly criticized and lawmakers are concerned it could tarnish the city's reputation, Pix11 reports.
Filming is on the heals of a series of shootings this summer that claimed four lives in Paterson in August. Sixteen other victims were wounded.
The episode is expected to air this winter.
