The position is set to run through Nov. 20, but the Association said the selected candidate may be asked to work in the position for an additional six months.
The internship is located at Paterson Great Falls National Historic Park, which is home to a waterfall widely viewed as among the country's best. The Passaic River, which also runs through the park, also played a substantial role in shaping the American Industrial Revolution, according to the Association.
The person who fills the position will work in a team-oriented environment while assisting with day-to-day operations in the interpretive division of the park, which includes providing visitor orientation and information at various locations across the park, historic district and Welcome Center/bookstore.
The position also is responsible for providing park tours, aiding in the preparation of two 2016 National Park Service Centennial events, providing lead assistance in writing environmental and/or historic educational programs offered to student visitors to the park, performing opening and closing procedures at the Welcome Center and staffing a visitor center desk.
Other aspects of the position include producing "non-personal" white papers for the park website, educational products, site bulletins and content for the park's social media platforms.
