Clifton Offers Plush Figures To Commemorate Centennial

CLIFTON, N.J. -- Plush stuffed animals to raise funds and celebrate Clifton's centennial are being sold at the city clerk's office.

Eight-inch bears or mustangs featuring the centennial logo cost $12 each and can be purchased Monday 8:15 a.m.-7:30 p.m. and Tuesday-Friday 8:15 a.m.-4:15 p.m. 

Payment is requested by exact change or check. Checks should be made payable to the City of Clifton; write Plush Animals Fundraiser in the notes. Call (973) 470-5757 for more information.

The clerk's office is also selling a "Passport to History" booklet to help residents keep track of all the centennial events. 

A Passport to History costs $5, and centennial participants can fill the pages with specially designed stamps at each event.

Purchase a passport at the clerk's or by calling Norma Smith at 973-744-5707.

Upcoming centennial events include trips to Ellis Island, Clifton Night at the Jackals, an International Food and Cultural Festival, Restaurant Week, a Scavenger Hunt and more. Dates are still being set.

The Centennial Parade is May 21, 2017 and the Centennial Gala is May 30, 2017.
