About 200 teens and young adults caused chaos at a PTA-sponsored hayride in Collingswood, authorities said. The large group was dropped off by several vehicles on the outskirts of Knight Park on Saturday, Oct. 19, the Collingswood Police Department said in a Facebook post. Wayne Resident Wakes Up To Find Multiple Masked Burglars In His Bedroom: Police
A Wayne resident suffered a head injury chasing multiple masked suspects out of his home Wednesday morning, Oct. 23, police said. The homeowner said he awoke to the masked individuals in his bedroom around 5 a.m., after they'd removed the first-floor screen from a window and broke the lock that secured it, Police Chief Joseph Rooney said. A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle along Route 21 in Passaic on Tuesday, Oct. 22, authorities said. The unidentified male was struck by an Acura sedan while trying to cross the roadway in the northbound lanes around 8:05 p.m., Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. A 33-year-old Clifton man has been charged in the April crash that killed a 58-year-old grandmother from Passaic, authorities announced. Grzegorz Wolak was in a red Ford Explorer when he struck Rachel McNeil on Passaic and Aycrigg avenues around 11:15 p.m. April 10, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Passaic Chief of Police Luis A. Guzman said. McNeil died two days later at St. Joseph’s University Medical Center. Paterson Building Collapse Under Investigation
Authorities are investigating a building collapse overnight in Paterson. The vacant, single-story building on Ryle Avenue collapsed around 12 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23, the fire department said. The building is attached to a vacant three-story mill. Public Service Electric was on the scene working to isolate power to the street and manage downed wires. Crews are actively conducting primary searches of the collapsed area.
