A New Jersey man who told his girlfriend, "It's all going to end tonight," as she pleaded for her life inside a Pennsylvania hotel room will spend the rest of his life in prison for her murder, prosecutors announced on Monday, Oct. 26.
Orenthia Upshur, 52, of Trenton, pleaded guilty to first-degree murder and related charges in the Jan. 15, 2025, shooting death of his longtime girlfriend, Maisha Coon, 49, also of Trenton, at the Sleep Inn on Street Road in Bensalem, the Bucks County District Attorney said.

Caryn Coon, a 22-year-old Forked River resident, was one of two women killed in a multi-vehicle crash on the Garden State Parkway in Ocean County, Saturday night, Oct. 24, authorities said.

Off-Duty Cop Kills Pedestrian, 37, In Newark, Prosecutor Says
An off-duty Newark police officer was behind the wheel of a vehicle that struck and killed a 37-year-old pedestrian early Sunday, Oct. 25, authorities said.
Sequndo Reyes Lligun was struck at the intersection of Bloomfield Avenue and North 6th Street around 2:06 a.m., Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens II and Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda said.
Lligun, whose address was unknown, was taken to University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 2:36 a.m.
