Flanders Driver Kills Pedestrian On Sidewalk In Hackettstown: Police
A pedestrian on the sidewalk was struck and killed by a vehicle that veered off of Route 46 in Hackettstown Wednesday morning, Jan. 29, police said. The crash occurred around 10:52 a.m., when a 2018 GMC Canyon, driven by a 61-year-old Flanders man, veered off the road and hit a pedestrian walking on the sidewalk in front of the CVS Pharmacy on Main Street, according to the Hackettstown Police Department. Delivery Truck Overturns, Leaking Heating Oil: Vernon PD
A home heating oil delivery truck overturned in Vernon Township on Saturday, Jan. 18, authorities said. At 12:30 p.m., officers responded to a motor vehicle crash on County Route 515 near the Acme Plaza and found the truck overturned, police said. The driver of the tanker was able to safely exit the vehicle and was transported to the hospital to be treated for injuries sustained in the crash, police said. Shock and sadness spread following the sudden death of a 41-year-old dad on Route 80 this week. Troopers responded to the crash in the westbound lanes of the highway in Wayne at approximately 10:51 a.m., New Jersey State Police Sgt. Charles Marchan said. A Ford Econoline van, driven by Namon Melvin, 41, of Orange, had rear-ended a Honda passenger car near milepost 53.7, Marchan said. Flanders Driver, 19, Killed On Route 80 After Rear-Ending Box Truck In Denville: Police
A 19-year-old driver was killed in an early-morning Route 80 crash when he rear-ended a box truck stopped in the shoulder, authorities said. Cameron Ray, of Flanders, was heading west in a Subrau when he rear-ended the truck near milepost 38.2 in Denville around 5:40 a.m., New Jersey State Police Sgt. Charles Marchan said. Ray died as a result of the crash while the box truck driver suffered minor injuries. The crash remains under investigation, and no additional information is available.

A 52-year-old motorcyclist was killed in an early-morning crash on Route 280 in Hudson County, police said. Kyle Silas, of Orange, was heading west on a Fly Wing electric motorcycle when he struck a Ford sedan near milepost 16 in Kearny around 4:35 a.m., New Jersey State Police Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron said. Silas was ejected then run over by a Dodge, Lebron said. He died as a result of the accident.
