Police received a tip that a man tried getting bogus prescriptions for several medications filled last Dec. 12, at the Walgreen's Pharmacy on Main Street, Madison Police Chief Chief Darren P. Dachisen, Sr. said.
An investigation identified Mohamed Magassouba, of the Bronx, as a suspect, the chief said.
When police took Magassouba into custody 10 days later while trying to pick up the medications, he gave police a fake name and was found in possession of a weapon.
He was charged with obtaining controlled dangerous substances by fraud, unlawful weapon possession, hindering apprehension and obstructing the administration of law.
