A new travel ranking is giving vacation dreamers a fresh reason to argue over the map.
Travel + Leisure released its 2026 World's Best Awards list of the best cities in the US on Monday, July 7, after readers weighed in on their favorite travel experiences.
The magazine’s readers put Santa Fe, New Mexico, at No. 1 with a score of 88.85, ahead of Charleston, South Carolina, and Savannah, Georgia, according to Travel + Leisure.

Kaitlyn Tracey, the Canadian national accused of assaulting a girl over pro-Trump sweatpants on a Jersey Shore boardwalk, had overstayed her visa for nearly two years, the Department of Homeland Security announced Wednesday, July 15.
DHS called the 33-year-old "a criminal illegal alien from Canada." Tracey entered the United States on Sunday, April 14, 2026. and her visa expired on Friday, Sept. 6, 2024.

Trenton Man Arrested For Murder: Prosecutor
A 38-year-old Trenton resident was arrested and charged with murdering a man, authorities announced Wednesday, July 15.
On Thursday, March 19, Anthony White, a 35-year-old Trenton resident, was reported missing, Mercer County Prosecutor Janetta Marbrey and Trenton Police Director Steve Wilson said. On Wednesday, April 1, police responded to a vacant residence at 409 Walnut Ave. where White was found dead, authorities said.

NJ Firefighter Dies After Crash Responding To Fire
South Jersey firefighter Robert "Bobby" Reider died on Friday, July 10, about two weeks after he was involved in a car crash while responding to a fire, the Malaga Fire Company said. Reider was 23 years old.
On Saturday, June 27, at 10:31 a.m., Reider, a Vineland native, was traveling north on Delsea Drive when his vehicle left the roadway, firefighters said. Reiger was extricated from the vehicle and airlifted to Cooper Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries, firefighters said.
