NJ Business Owner Dies A Week After I-80 Motorcycle Crash In PA
A New Jersey business owner has died a week after his motorcycle collided with another vehicle on Interstate 80 in the Poconos, officials said.
Albert R. VanRiper III, 71, of Montville, was pronounced dead at 12:32 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 1, at Lehigh Valley Hospital–Cedar Crest, according to the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office.
VanRiper was riding a motorcycle when it crashed around 8:16 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25, on I-80 near mile marker 305 in Stroudsburg, Monroe County, the coroner said.

NJ Woman Killed In Times Square Stabbing, Suspect Fatally Shot By Police
A 32-year-old New Jersey woman was killed after she was stabbed in Times Square Monday, Aug. 31, authorities said.
At 4:24 p.m., police responded to Times Square after Pamela Cisneros, a 49-year-old Queens woman, had stabbed Erin Piacenti, a Chester resident, and a 68-year-old man, the New York City Police Department said. The victims were transported to a nearby hospital where Piacenti was pronounced dead, the NYPD said. The other victim was in stable condition, police said.

Man Seen Leaving Route 17 Hotel With 'Shotgun' Had Loaded BB Rifle: Police
A report of a man walking out of a Route 17 hotel with what appeared to be a shotgun led to the arrest of an Indiana man on Monday, Aug. 31, authorities said.
Eric M. Smith, 42, of Elkhart, IN, was arrested at the Home2 Suites by Hilton on Route 17 South in Hasbrouck Heights, Hasbrouck Heights Police Capt. John Behr said.
Officers Perez, Thibault, Connors, and Detective Olivo were called to the hotel around 4:19 p.m. on a report of a man walking out of the lobby with a shotgun, Behr said.

A 45-year-old Brick man was arrested and charged with dealing heroin and fentanyl, authorities announced Monday, Aug. 31.
Following an investigation, a search of Duffy's residence led to the seizure of 89 grams of suspected cocaine and/or crack cocaine, 286 individual glassine wax folds containing suspected heroin/fentanyl, 82 grams of suspected MDMA, 57 grams of suspected fentanyl, and 29 grams of suspected oxycodone pills, Brick police said.

Marcos Diaz, an Elizabeth native and devoted New York Mets fan, died Friday, Aug. 28, at 38 years old, according to his obituary on the Gorny & Gorny Funeral Home website.
Diaz was born Aug. 7, 1988, to Milagro and Rolando Diaz, and enjoyed baseball, going to the gym, and following sports, according to his obituary. He was known for his extensive knowledge of teams, players, games, and statistics, and also enjoyed heights and spending time with his family. Valley View Apartments, at 149 Katz Ave., in Paterson, was acquired by EOM Equity from Redwood Associates, an affiliate of Value Companies, JLL Capital Markets announced Tuesday, Sept. 1. A sale price was not disclosed.
