Authorities have released the identity of the person killed in a crash on Route 23 earlier this week. Hamid Shabuddin, 55, of Paterson was a passenger in a 2005 Toyota Camry that collided head-on with a 2021 Ford F-150 at 11 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 15 in the northbound lanes in Riverdale, a spokesperson for the prosecutor's office said. Shabbudin was pronounced dead at the scene while the driver of the Camry was taken to a hospital. Motorcyclist, 39, Killed In Sussex County Crash
A 39-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a Sussex County crash over the weekend. Frank Jimeno, of West New York, was heading north on Route 23 on a KTM motorcycle when he veered off the side of the roadway to the right and struck a guardrail in Montague Township at milepost 50 Sunday, Oct. 6 around 10:30 a.m., New Jersey State Police Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron said. Jimeno died as a result of the crash, which remains under investigation.

Motorcyclist, 23, Seriously Injured After Crashing Into Sussex County Embankment: State Police
A 23-year-old man was seriously injured after his motorcycle veered off the highway and into an embankment over the weekend, state police said. The Passaic man was riding a Kawasaki motorcycle southbound on Route 23 when it ran off the right, overturned, and hit an embankment near milepost 49.1 in Montague around 6 p.m. Saturday, August 26, NJSP SFC Philip Curry told Daily Voice.
