A New Jersey priest arrested for shoplifting and drunk driving is stepping down from his pulpit, Daily Voice has learned. Dawid Wejnerowski, the now-former priest of the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Alpha, had a blood alcohol level more than twice the legal limit when Pohatcong police pulled him over on suspicion of shoplifting from Walmart on Monday, Feb. 19 around 10:15 p.m., Police Chief Scott Robb said. Judge Orders South Jersey School Janitor Detained In Food Contamination Case
A South Jersey judge has ordered that an elementary school janitor accused of contaminating food with his own bodily fluids at his place of employment be detained in the Cumberland County Jail. Judge Cristen P. D’Arrigo said that Giovanni Impellizzeri, 25, of Vineland, remains a substantial risk to the public during a hearing on Thursday, Nov. 9. State Charges Millville Court With Discriminating Against Spanish Speakers
State authorities filed a complaint Tuesday accusing the city of Millville of violating the law by discriminating against Spanish-speaking defendants. The municipal court in Millville required those who “were or were perceived to be Spanish-speaking” prevented them from participating in court proceedings virtually between June and December 2022, New Jersey Attorney General Matthew J. Police: Allentown Man, 22, Found With Unlicensed Gun During Traffic Stop
Police in Allentown arrested a man they say was found with an unlicensed firearm during a Wednesday evening traffic stop. Antonio Amezquita Claudio, 22, was found with the gun after he was pulled over near 6th St. and Washington St. just before 6 p.m., Allentown Police said. Claudio, of Allentown, was charged with firearms not to be carried without a license. He also faces marijuana and paraphernalia possession offenses, police said. Bruce Springsteen’s federal court appearance on DWI charges Wednesday will be streamed live via Zoom for the news media.
