No matter what you prefer, there is a breakfast or brunch spot for you in Warren and Hunterdon counties.

Of the dozens to choose from, below are the highest-rated breakfast and brunch spots in the area, according to Yelp.

James on Main, Hackettstown: With a wood-fired grill and locally-sourced food, how could you go wrong? Chef Bill Van Pelt has 20 years of experience under his belt and has garnered both local and national awards.

"It is the mission of James on Main to become woven into the fabric of this classic downtown and diverse community, providing a place for families, friends and coworkers alike to find a delicious, health-inspired meal prepared especially for them," the website says.

Clean-Plate Kitchen, Clinton: A dietitian and her restaurateur/handyman husband are bringing clean eats to the area.

The farm-to-table eatery offers a seasonal menu with plenty of vegan and vegetarian options. Sit outside or in, by the fireplace.

Allamuchy General Store Cafe: Customers raved about the endless menus, friendly staff and taste of nostalgia from this place.

Eggs come in a cast-iron skillet and "heavenly" pastries are perfectly flaky and sweet, according to Yelp reviews. The quaint eatery is open 24/7, to boot.

Scout's Coffee Bar & Mercantile, High Bridge: Bring your book and hunker down with a scone, or grab a seat on the bench and strike up conversation with the friendly locals after a hike.

"Nestled in Downtown High Bridge, New Jersey, Scout's believes that good coffee and good food are the cornerstone for a good life," the website says.

"Enjoy the waterfalls, Ken Lockwood Gorge, a bike ride out to Long Valley's aromatic woods and make a day of it. We'll be there from the start of your day with fresh made croissants, until the end with a refreshing cold drink and a sandwich."

Stella G's, Hackettstown: Described as "American country chic," bring your own booze to Stella G's.

"Small, quaint, family owned restaurant," a Yelper said.

"No frills food, just good old fashioned lunch and breakfast. Portions are a great size and I honestly think drinking coffee out of camping mugs makes me smile for no reason."

Gronsky's Milk House, High Bridge: This old fashioned ice cream shoppe doubles as a must-try brunch spot. The pancakes are creative and massive, with an emphasis on the massive.

October's "pancake of the month" is pumpkin with cinnamon butter. Run, don't walk. And don't be afraid to try one of the dozens of homemade ice cream flavors with it.
