An Elizabeth police officer will not face charges following a pursuit that left a taxi cab driver and his passenger dead in Dec. 2023, authorities said.
A state grand jury declined to indict Officer Michael White on Monday, Jan. 27 State Attorney General Matthew Platkin said.

17-Year-Old Charged In Fatal Jersey City Shooting: Prosecutor
A 17-year-old has been charged with fatally shooting a 20-year-old in Jersey City on Friday, Jan. 3, authorities said.
At 8:30 p.m., police were called to the area of Lembeck Avenue and Old Bergen Road on reports of gunfire, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. Officers found Rahmiere Morris, 20, with a gunshot wound to his torso, Suarez said.
Morris was transported to Jersey City Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at approximately 9:35 p.m., Suarez said.
