The blaze out late Sunday night, Dec. 1, in a vacant three-story building on the 400 block of Main Street in Orange, formerly home to the Rossi Paint Company, according to Orange Deputy Fire Chief Elvin Padilla Jr. The Orange Fire Department, led by Deputy Chief Rivera, responded to the blaze at approximately 9:30 p.m., encountering heavy flames consuming the top floor of the structure. West Orange Townhouse Fire A man and a woman were killed in a fire in West Orange on the early morning of Tuesday, May 14, authorities said. At 12:18 a.m., the West Orange Fire Department responded to Northfield Townhouses at 595 Northfield Ave., for a structure in a 3-story home with trapped occupants, a spokesman for the township said. Firefighters encountered a heavy blaze in the basement and were able to place the fire under control in 45 minutes, a spokesman said. Baby Hospitalized After Near-Drowning In West Orange An 18-month-old child was revived after nearly drowning on Thursday in West Orange, a spokesman for the township said.  First-responders were called to a home on Winding Way on a report of a drowning, according to Chief Anthony Vecchio of the West Orange Fire Department.  When first-responders arrived, the child had been rescued and was breathing on its own, Vecchio said. The child was then taken to an area hospital.  Information on the child's condition or on additional circumstances surrounding the incident was not immediately available Friday afternoon.
