A 39-year-old man was convicted by an Essex County jury of attempted murder for hitting the mother of his children with his vehicle during a 2020 argument, causing serious injuries, authorities said. Man Wanted For Questioning In Newark Shooting
Newark police seek the public’s help in locating a 31-year-old man who is wanted for questioning in connection with a shooting, authorities said. Zyquwan Barnes is sought in connection with the shooting that occurred on Oct. 22, according to Newark Public Safety Fritz G. Fragé. At approximately 7:25 p.m., police responded to the 700 block of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard for a shooting. Responding officers found a man who had been shot. 93-Year-Old Pedestrian Struck, Killed By Car In East Orange
A 93-year-old man was struck and killed by a vehicle in East Orange, authorities said. Earnest Green was struck at the intersection of South Arlington Avenue and Central Avenue around 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens II and East Orange Police Chief Phyllis Bindi said. Green was taken to University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 12:31 a.m. Sunday. Pedestrian, 35, Critical After Being Struck By Car In Linden
A pedestrian was critically hurt in a crash in Linden, authorities said. At 5:22 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 2, Linden police responded to 2040 E. St. Georges Ave. on reports of a serious motor vehicle collision. A preliminary investigation determined that a 35-year-old man from Roselle was walking in the roadway when he was struck by a 2017 Mazda CX5 that was traveling east on E. St. Georges Ave. The man was transported to University Hospital where he remained in critical condition, police said. 6-Year-Old Child, Man Shot In Newark
A man in his 20s and a 6-year-old child were hospitalized after being shot on Tuesday, Nov. 1 in Newark, authorities said. Police responding to a report of shots fired on the 300 block of South Orange Avenue found the victims, who were taken to University Hospital for treatment around 7 p.m., Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said.
