Paterson PD: Uber Rider Nabbed After Demanding Oral Sex At Gunpoint From Female Driver
A Fort Lee Uber rider with a gun threatened to kill a driver if she didn’t give him oral sex, said Paterson police who caught him after she tricked him into waiting in the car. The driver told city police she’d picked up the fare in Palisades Park shortly before 6 p.m. Sunday for what was to be a ride to Pearl Street and Rosa Parks Boulevard. Authorities are seeking the public's help identifying a man who they say assaulted and robbed an Uber driver in Newark. Police say the driver picked up a male passenger at 31 South St. shortly after 2 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 20. The man, pictured above, punched the driver and stole her cell phone before running west on South Street, authorities said. Fort Lee Woman Raped By Newark Uber Driver, Suit Says
A Fort Lee woman is claiming in a civil suit that she was raped by her Uber driver two years ago in Edgewater. The suit was filed by Attorneys Paul Faugno and John Daniels on the victim's behalf, on Dec. 12 in Bergen County Superior Court, NorthJersey.com reports. Uber and a Newark driver are listed as the defendants. The victim is seeking unspecified damages, the lawsuit says. Nutley Fraud Victim Gets At Least Four Bad Checks From Same Person: Police
An Uber driver ended up getting cheated out of thousands of dollars by an acquaintance who wrote a series of bad checks, police in Nutley said. The driver told police Tuesday the person requested a ride to Indiana at an agreed-upon price of $850. When they returned, the driver was given a check for $4, 294 as payment. The person asked the driver to keep the $850 and to send the balance to the person via Zell, a cash-transfer app. The check bounced and the driver ended up overdrawing an account, police said. A phony Uber driver dragged a 65-year-old Palisades Park woman with his car, injuring her, after driving her home from Newark Airport, said authorities who arrested him Friday. The Port Authority is considering raising tolls on the George Washington Bridge, the Lincoln Tunnel and other crossings into New York by $1, The New York Times reported Monday. Haworth police charged an Uber driver with weapons offenses after finding a BB gun that resembled the real thing in her car, authorities said Friday.
