A Hudson Link bus burst into flames on the Tappan Zee Bridge on Friday afternoon, Nov. 21, shutting down multiple lanes and causing delays before firefighters brought the blaze under control. The fire began just before 1:40 p.m. as the bus was traveling south across the span. Downhill Tow Truck Slams Into North Bergen Home
A tow truck towing a USPS truck slammed into the porch of a North Bergen home on Friday, Dec. 29. The truck was going downhill on 73rd at Grand Avenue when the back wheels came off the ground, sending the truck flying down to Liberty Avenue, where the driver crashed into the porch of the home, Police Capt. Jorge Raposo said. Had the truck not crashed into the home it would've gone right into Route 1&9, which was experiencing bumper-to-bumper traffic, the captain said.

A box truck ended up on the median on Route 287, clogging post-Labor Day traffic at the state line, authorities said. No injuries were reported in the mishap in Mahwah shortly before 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6. A teen driver was hospitalized after rear-ending a cement truck on Route 21, authorities said. A 17-year-old driver was behind the wheel of a Hyundai when he rear-ended a cement truck on Route 21 in Nutley on Friday, May 27, police said. The driver went unconscious and was taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, police said. The cement truck driver suffered minor injuries. A delivery truck barreled off Route 17 in Paramus when its driver had a medical emergency, responders said. The Ski Barn truck ended up in a water detention area on the southbound highway just past the Garden State Parkway around 9 a.m. Tuesday, May 17.
