Fatal Shooting Of East Orange Man Under Investigation
The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office is seeking information on a shooting that claimed the life of an East Orange man Wednesday. Timothy Tyreek Melendez, 31, was shot around 1:15 p.m. in the 200 block of North Grove Street. He was rushed to University Hospital in Newark, where he died about eight hours later. No one has been arrested. Authorities are asking anyone with information to call the prosecutor’s Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force at 1-877-847-7432 (877-TIPS-4EC).
