Mickey McCabe was all about helping the City of Bayonne. The longtime first responder and community leader died on Monday, June 19 after a long battle with lung cancer, according to his obituary. McCabe and his wife Judy started McCabe Ambulance Company, which they operated for more than 50 years, his obituary reads. McCabe was also co-founder and chairperson of the board of BCB Community Bank and a founding member of the Bayonne St. Patrick's Parade Committee, according to his obituary. HIM? Police Looking For Person Who Vandalized Bayonne Church
Police in Bayonne have released images from surveillance video (attached) showing a person suspected of destroying a crucifix at a church last week. On Wednesday, police were called to St. Vincent de Paul Church on Avenue C, where a witness said someone pulled a crucifix out of the ground, breaking it in half, then smashed one of the two pieces before fleeing. The suspect is described as a white or light-skinned Hispanic male, about 5'8" to 5'10" and approximately 25 years old. Police Looking For Person Who Smashed Crucifix At Bayonne Church
Police in Bayonne are investigating a reported act of vandalism at a church Wednesday night. Officers were called to St. Vincent de Paul Church on Avenue C around 8:45 p.m., where a witness said someone described only as a male broke a crucifix installed on the church's lawn. The person pulled the crucifix out of the ground and threw it down, breaking it into two pieces. He slammed a piece of it against the wall, shattering a carving of Jesus.
