Work-Bound Lyndhurst Woman Killed When Truck Hits Tree
A Lyndhurst woman on her way to work was killed when her truck slammed into a tree early Saturday, authorities said. The 40-year-old victim was pronounced dead at the scene after her Chevy Tahoe struck the tree off the northbound lane across from an industrial park on Chubb Avenue near Route 3 around 7:15 a.m., Detective Sgt. Vincent Auteri said. Although the investigation was in its early stages, speed appeared to be a factor, Auteri said. The limit on that stretch is 25 miles an hour. Police Chase: Wayne Man Wanted In Attempted Water Gap Kidnap Captured On Route 46
A Wayne man wanted for an attempted kidnapping and assault with a deadly weapon at the Delaware Water Gap national park was captured in Warren County, authorities said. An off-duty firefighter called police early Monday evening while following a vehicle driven by 57-year-old Jeffrey A. Nutley Police Officer OK After Fleeing Newark Driver Hits Him: Police
A Nutley police officer suffered minor injuries to his arm when a Newark motorist struck him with her vehicle July 6, the department said in a statement. Police approached a suspicious vehicle driven by Shanoa Glover, 30, on Franklin Avenue. Glover hit the officer when she fled from the scene, according to police. Former High School Athlete Charged With DWI After River Vale Crash
A multi-sport athlete from Rockland was drunk when his car jumped a curb, toppled a street sign and slammed into a telephone pole in River Vale, authorities said. Raymond Amato, 22, of Pearl River was behind the wheel of a speeding car on Rivervale Road when an officer pulled behind him shortly before 3 a.m. May 26, police said. A teen driver has been charged in connection with a Fredon crash that killed a 17-year-old female passenger, NJ.com reports.
