Shooting Suspect Sought In Newark
Newark police are searching for the man accused of shooting at a woman on a Fairmount street, authorities say. The attack occurred just after 10 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 23, on the 100 block of South 9th Street, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé said in a statement. The woman was not injured, and police say she knew the man who pulled the trigger. Anthony "Mario" Williams is wanted for aggravated assault in connection to the shooting. Police are seeking the public’s help identifying a man and woman in connection with an armed carjacking that occurred in Newark Wednesday evening. The armed suspects — pictured above — carjacked a white 2016 Toyota Camry on the 100 block of South 9th Street around 7:30 p.m., Newark Public Safety Director Brian A. O’Hara said. Deadly Shooting Of Newark Man, 27, Under Investigation
Authorities in Essex County are investigating a shooting that left a 27-year-old Newark man dead on Monday. Officers responding to Central Avenue and South 9th Street around 7:55 p.m. on a report of shots fired, found Antonio McCrimmon in the street, according to Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Police: Newark Officer Hospitalized After Being Dragged By Pair In Stolen SUV
A Newark police officer was hospitalized after being dragged by a pair of men in a stolen SUV, authorities said. The officer was patrolling 12th Avenue and South 9th Street when he approached a suspicious grey Honda CRV occupied by two men around 9 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 14, Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Authorities in Newark are seeking the public's help locating a woman wanted for questioning in regards to an aggravated assault shooting. Newark Woman, 18, Fatally Shot; Fourth Killing In City Since Saturday
An 18-year-old from Newark died in a shooting that left two other people wounded, the Essex County Prosecutor's Office said. Nakiyyah Miller was shot in the 100 block of Brunswick Street around 3 a.m. She was pronounced dead at University Hospital about an hour later. The two other victims are a 16-year-old boy and a 35-year-old man, both from Newark. No arrests had been made as of midday Friday.
