Teenager On Scooter Critical After Jersey City Crash: Authorities A 17-year-old is in critical condition after he struck a vehicle while riding a scooter on the afternoon of Sunday, Oct. 27 in Jersey City, authorities said. The crash occurred at Route 440 and Danforth Avenue, near the intersection, Kimberly Wallace-Scalfione, a spokeswoman for the mayor's office said.  The teenager was transported to a local hospital with apparent life-threatening injuries to his head, Wallace-Scalfione said. He was last stated to be in critical condition, Wallace-Scalfioe said.  The investigation is ongoing, Wallace-Scalfioe said.

Police ID Scooter Rider, 18, Killed In Paterson Crash Authorities have identified the 18-year-old man killed riding a scooter in Paterson Wednesday night, Oct. 2. Angelvl Javier-Reynos was riding with another 18-year-old city resident when they were struck by a Jeep Grand Cherokee just before 8 p.m. at 9th and Madison avenues, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Department Officer-In-Charge Isa Abbassi said. Javier-Reynos was pronounced dead at the scene while the other rider was hospitalized with non-fatal injuries, the prosecutor said. Shooting Suspects At Large In Newark: Police (Photo) Police are looking for multiple suspects in connection with a shooting in Newark on Saturday, Aug. 24, authorities said. At 8:51 p.m., police responded to Dickerson Street near Hecker Street on a report of shots fired, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé said. Police did not locate any victims, but observed that a vehicle parked in the area and a residential building in the area were both struck by gunfire, Fragé said. Man Riding Scooter Broke Into Newark Dunkin': Police A man riding a scooter is at large after he broke into a Dunkin in Newark on Saturday, Sept. 7, authorities said. Scooterist Fatally Struck By Vehicle In Newark: Prosecutor A 63-year-old Elizabeth man was killed after he was struck by a vehicle while riding a scooter on Monday, July 15 in Newark, authorities said. At 5:25 p.m., Kenneth Roy William was riding a motorized scooter when it collided with a 2016 Jeep at Frelinghuysen Avenue and Carrington Street, a spokesman for the Essex County Prosecutor's Office said.  William was transported to University Hospital where he was pronounced dead soon after, authorities said.
