Newark public school students will have to wait until next year for in-person learning due to COVID-19. Superintendent Roger Leon announced that all schools will be holding classes remotely until at least Jan. 25, 2021. A Bergen County high school recently ranked the best America and an elite prep school have both switched to remote learning after individuals tested positive for Coronavirus. Don Bosco Prep has cancelled athletic events and went remote Wednesday, after two students tested positive. Some students in one Morris County district will have to wait until 2021 before they can return to in-person learning. Students in grades six through eight at the John Hill School and Boonton High School students can return Feb. 1, while K through 5th grade students can start on Jan. 19, Boonton Public Schools Superintendent Robert Presuto said. A Hudson County charter school switched to entirely-remote learning after a student tested positive, reports say. The Elysian Charter School in Hoboken closed last Friday after the case was reported, NJ.com says. Monmouth University has cancelled all in-person classes and sporting events after confirming more than 300 positive coronavirus cases.
