Man Fatally Stabbed in East Orange: Prosecutor Man Fatally Stabbed in East Orange: Prosecutor
Man Fatally Stabbed in East Orange: Prosecutor A 51-year-old man was fatally stabbed in East Orange on the morning of Sunday, Oct. 13, authorities said. At 11:29 a.m., East Orange police responded to an apartment on the 500 block of Main Street and found William Gilliam with apparent stab wounds, Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II and East Orange Police Chief Phyllis Bindi said. Gilliam was pronounced dead soon after, authorities said. This incident is being investigated by the Prosecutor’s Homicide Task Force, which includes detectives from the East Orange Police Department, authorities said.

At 11:23 p.m., Newark police responded to 4th Avenue and North 12th Street where they found Brielle Alston, 31, suffering from a gunshot wound, Essex County Prosecutor Theodore Stephens, II and Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Frage said. Double Shooting Leaves 1 Dead In Newark, Prosecutor Says A 27-year-old Newark resident was fatally shot in a double shooting on the evening of Tuesday June 4, authorities said. At 9:30 p.m., police responded to the 200 block of South Orange Avenue and found two men suffering from gunshot wounds, Essex County Prosecutor Theodore Stephens, II and Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Frage said. The victims were transported to a nearby hospital where Ty'Shon Young was pronounced dead, Stephens and Frage said. The other victim, a 25-year-old man, remains hospitalized, Stephens and Frage said.
