Man Broke Into Convenience Store, Stole Cigarettes, Lotto Tickets: Newark PD A man is at large after he broke into a convenience store in Newark and stole cash and other items on Friday, Sept. 13, authorities said. At 3 a.m., the suspect broke into Downneck Convenience Store on Pacific Street, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. The suspect was captured on surveillance video smashing the front glass door with a rock, Fragé said. Once inside, he took money from the cash register, several lottery scratch-off tickets, and multiple boxes of cigarettes, Fragé said. Anyone with information is asked to call (1-877-695-8477.

Halee A. Wing was shot on the 100 block of Pacific Street and taken to University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead just before 7:40 p.m., Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N.
