At 12:30 a.m., Jefferson Sanchez hit the two vehicles at the intersection of Newark and Hudson Streets, a spokeswoman for the Hoboken police said. Sanchez tried to flee the scene before being stopped by Hoboken police, New Jersey Transit police and pedestrians in the area, authorities said. Swatting Hoax Probed By Hoboken Police A report of a shooting in Hoboken on Monday, April 17 turned out to be a swatting hoax, police said. Police responded to Grand Street between 1st and Newark Streets, along with fire, EMS and police officers from the nearby Stevens Police Department. Officers closed down Grand Street as they began their investigation. Officers soon determined the call was fake and there was no threat to public safety, police said.
