Gunfire Kills One, Wounds Three On Newark Street One person was killed and three others were injured Monday night in a pair of shootings on the same Newark street, authorities said. Gunfire broke out just after 5 p.m. on South 8th Street, off 12th Avenue, a neighborhood of mostly two-family homes. The three hospitalized didn’t have life-threatening wounds, police said. There was no immediate word on a possible motive or whether authorities had anyone in custody. The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office was investigating, assisted by Newark police. NY Man Charged In Carjacking Spree Throughout Newark, Elizabeth A Brooklyn man suspected of several carjackings in Newark and Elizabeth last month is in custody, Newark police said Tuesday.  Jaheem Fulmore was arrested at his home and be being held at the Essex County jail. Irvington Man Shot And Killed In Newark Early Sunday A 43-year-old Irvington man was fatally shot in Newark early Sunday morning, the Essex County Prosecutor's Office said.  Newark police were called to the 100 block of Hartford Street around 2:40 a.m. There they found Clifford Cajou, who had suffered a gunshot wound. He was taken to University Hospital, just a few blocks from where he had been shot, where he was pronounced dead less than an hour later.  The death is under investigation by the prosecutor's Homicide Task Force, which includes Newark police detectives. Newark Man Charged In String Of Belleville Burglaries A 57-year-old Newark man was arrested Monday and charged with a series of nighttime commercial burglaries in Belleville, police said.  In all four burglaries police said Anthony Meyers smashed an exterior door window, enter the business and empty the cash register. He was arrested in Newark.  Meyers was arrested thanks to surveillance video submitted by businesses and residents and with help from Maplewood and Newark police, the New Jersey Regional Operations Intelligence Center and the Newark Real Time Crime Center, Belleville police also said.
