A New York State Police trooper is recovering after being shot on a Long Island highway. The incident happened on the Southern State Parkway in West Hempstead, in the westbound lanes near exit 17, late Wednesday night, Oct. 30. According to police, a trooper exchanged gunfire with a suspect before the suspect fled the scene. The trooper was taken to a hospital and was listed in stable condition early Thursday, Oct. 31. 500 Tickets Issued, 30 Vehicles Of Toll Violators Impounded In Single Day At NJ Bridge
Police issued 500 summonses and impounded 30 vehicles of persistent toll violators and users of fake or obstructed license plates, officials said. The Oct. 15 operation was a collaboration between the Port Authority of NY/NJ Police, NYPD, and New York State Police, and more, which also netted six arrests. A 71-year-old Bergen County man was killed in a mountain bike accident at a state park in the Hudson Valley. Alido M.
