Federal jurors in Newark convicted an Elizabeth man of luring out-of-state escorts to New Jersey for sex with false promises of paying them tens of thousands of dollars, authorities said. A Bronx man who brought a stolen car for sale to Paterson got jailed instead, Passaic County Sheriff Richard H. Berdnik said. Those involved apparently took multiple steps to "wash" the 2021 Acura TSX's particular identifying information, the sheriff said.
