Throngs of attendees were enjoying the annual Feast of St. Rocco in the shadow of the George Washington Bridge this weekend when a convicted sex offender known to police began drawing attention. Robert J. Frate, 56, apparently had become irate over something, “yelling and waving his arms around in an animated manner,” Fort Lee Police Capt. Edward Young said. Ann Marie Renois of Glen Ridge died on Feb. 4. She was 29 years old. Ann Marie was remembered in her obituary as a "generous person who loved children and felt a calling to care for others." She is survived by her parents, Frank and Mary Pat Renois; siblings Daniel, Kelly, Jack, Michael and Frankie; grandmothers Mary (Una) Kelly and Ann Renois; along with dozens of aunts, uncles and cousins. 19: Numbers Continue To Climb In Morris County Area Following Labor Day Bash
The number of coronavirus cases linked to a Morris County Labor Day party has nearly doubled, township officials said. At least eight confirmed COVID-19 cases are linked to the Chatham Borough party, and as of Wednesday, another nine new cases in the Chathams were confirmed, Township Mayor Michael Kelly said. The new cases brought the six-day total to 21, he said. Chatham high schoolers were switched to remote learning after 12 of them had tested positive for the virus. Dozens Charged In Huge Tri-State Area Shoplifting Ring
A band of shoplifters targeting chain stores including Walgreens have been arrested after netting millions in goods, Jersey City police announced during a press conference Thursday afternoon. The shoplifters filled bags with items purloined from the stores, which include locations in Bayonne and Jersey City, said Chief of Police Michael Kelly. Twenty- three people have been charged so far but the investigation is continuing, authorities said.
