Man Shot In Doorway In Jersey City: Authorities A 50-year-old Jersey City man was shot in the face in his doorway on Friday, Oct. 27, authorities said. Police arrived at 27 Grand Ave. at 9:56 p.m., Kimberly Wallace-Scalfione, a spokeswoman for the mayor's office, said. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital and is in critical but stable condition, Wallace-Scalfione said.  The investigation is ongoing, Wallace-Scalfione said.

Firefighters observed a fire inside a vehicle located on a hydraulic lift approximately 7-feet high inside an auto repair building, Kimberly Wallace-Scalfione, a spokeswoman for the mayor's office, said. Student Slashed Outside Jersey City High School A student was slashed outside Ferris High School in Jersey City on the afternoon of Wednesday, April 26, Kimberly Wallace-Scalcione, a spokesman for the mayor's office said.  The student was slashed in the left hand and was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Wallace-Scalcione said. Firefighters will remain at the recycling plant at 1 Caven Point Ave., where the fire started, to put out any hotspots, said Kimberly Wallace-Scalcione, the press secretary for the mayor's office.
