Three New York men tried to kidnap a man on Wednesday morning, according to police. Angel Aristy, 23, Pedro Castillo, 19, and Rafael Vargas, 19, all of the Bronx, NY, have been charged after a stabbing and attempted kidnapping, Bayonne Capt. Eric Amato said in a statement. A tractor trailer overturned on Route 440 due Tuesday morning. The incident occurred north of Kennedy Boulevard in Bayonne/Jersey City around 8:40 a.m. All lanes were closed as of 8:50 a.m., 511nj.org reports.

A 27-year-old dirt bike rider dragged an officer attempting to stop him after leading several pursuits down local Bayonne streets -- some against the flow of traffic, authorities said. A Staten Island man was found with several pounds of marijuana during a Bayonne traffic stop and hit with a slew of narcotics charges for the second time in two weeks, authorities said. Walter A. Harris, 34, was pulled over for speeding near 30th Street and Kennedy Boulevard around 11:20 p.m. Monday, Bayonne Police Captain Eric R. Amato said. A search of his vehicle turned up 2.8 pounds of pot, police said. A lottery ticket good for nearly $4.3 million was sold in Hudson County. The ticket from Monday's Pick-6 drawing was sold at the Yellow Rose Deli on Kennedy Boulevard in Bayonne. The winning numbers were 03, 04, 17, 23, 28, and 45. The XTRA Multiplier was 02. The lucky retailer will receive a bonus of $10,000 for selling that winning ticket. Hudson County Roads Inspector Charged With Accepting Construction Site Bribe
A Bayonne roads inspector was arrested for taking a cash payment to delete violations he issued at a construction project, authorities said. Barry Smith, 52, asked for and accepted undisclosed amount of cash at a construction site on Kennedy Boulevard and 15th Street in Bayonne, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. Smith apparently also took a similar payment last December, Suarez said. He was charged with bribery, theft by extortion and official misconduct Thursday. Fire ravaged two Bayonne multi-family homes Thursday afternoon, partially collapsing one and severely damaging the other. The blaze broke out on the second floor of the first home on Kennedy Boulevard at 18th Street shortly before 1 p.m. and quickly blew through the roof. Anthony Rose of Bayonne died suddenly on Sunday. He was 29 years old. A lifelong resident of the city, he worked as a mechanic for Conrail and was an avid motorcycle enthusiast. Two people were arrested Monday afternoon in Bayonne on a weapons charge after one was seen using a weapon described as a 12-inch machete or knife during a fight, Lt. Eric Amato of the Bayonne Police Department said. A 23-year-old man was arrested after he hugged two teen girls he did not know on a city street Friday, Lt. Eric Amato of the Bayonne Police Department said. Starling Rosario of Jersey City approached the girls around 7:30 p.m. near 4th Street and Kennedy Boulevard, embraced them and tried to kiss them. The girls called their fathers, who came to the area and held Rosario until police arrived, Amato said. Rosario has been charged with harassment.
