Two people were killed in an early morning fire in Kearny on Friday, Dec. 6, authorities said. Around midnight, the Kearny Fire Department responded to a fire at 56 Hamilton Ave. and encountered heavy fire coming from a single residence, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. Two people, Martin Wilson, 61, and Mary Beth Guenther, 58, were located within the structure with serious injuries, Suarez said. A fire early Friday, Dec. 6 in Hudson County has claimed the lives of two residents and is being investigated by the Hudson County Regional Arson Task Force, officials said. Body Found In Passaic River
A man's body has been recovered from the Passaic River, authorities in Hudson County said. The unidentified man was found floating in the river near Passaic Avenue and the Belleville Turnpike in Kearny around 6:20 p.m. Thursday, March 10, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. The Kearny Police Department and the Kearny Fire Department recovered the body, and pronounced the man dead at the scene. The Pulaski Skyway in Kearny was closed in both directions after a manufacturing plant went up in flames, stranding drivers on the roadway Friday night.
