Torrential downpours and flash flooding triggered widespread power outages and traffic disruptions across New Jersey on Thursday, July 31.
As of 9 p.m., more than 10,000 residents were without power.
PSE&G reported:
2,812 outages in Middlesex County, including 2,680 in Woodbridge
883 outages in Somerset County, mostly in North Plainfield
JCP&L reported more than 7,000 outages in Ocean County, including:
5,129 in Manchester
995 in Ocean Gate
586 in Berkeley Township
Utility crews were working through the night to restore power as the storms continued into the evening.

Storms Knock Out Power To Thousands Across NJ; Thunderstorm Watch In Effect Until 10PM
Thousands of homes and businesses lost power across New Jersey on Thursday, July 3, as storms moved through the state, according to outage data from JCP&L and PSE&G.
As of 6:15 p.m., Sussex County had the most widespread outages, with 3,029 customers in the dark, JCP&L reported. The hardest-hit towns included:
Sparta, with 1,724 outages
Ogdensburg, with 404 outages
Andover, with 298 outages
Stillwater, with 210 outages
In Morris County, 1,295 customers were without power, including:
646 in Chester
265 in Mendham Borough
136 in Mendham Township

Power Woes Mount In Essex County As Temps Hit Triple Digits
New Jersey is sweltering under dangerously high heat and humidity, with feels-like temperatures hitting 106° in multiple cities on Wednesday, June 25, according to the National Weather Service in Mount Holly.
Trenton, Vineland, Allentown, Philadelphia, and Wilmington all reached peak heat indices of 106°, while Easton, PA, topped out at 107°, weather officials said. Long Branch and Sussex hit 100°, and Toms River wasn’t far behind at 103°.

A powerful storm system is sweeping across New Jersey on Sunday, Feb. 16, bringing damaging winds, heavy rain, and the potential for flooding and power outages, according to the National Weather Service (NWS). Thousands of New Jersey residents woke up Monday morning, Aug. 19 without power due to Sunday's storm.
And according to the National Weather Service, more stormy weather could be on the way for later in the day.
As of 6:40 a.m., JCP&L was reporting the most outages with the following areas without power: Clinton, 880; Branchville, 150; Hopatcong, 215; Long Branch/Asbury Park, 350; Lakewood, 265.

Tornadoes Possible, Severe Thunderstorm Watch Issued For All Of NJ, Parts Of PA
The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm watch for all of New Jersey and eastern Pennsylvania to close out Memorial Day.
The NWS said tornadoes, heavy rain, and wind gusts up to 65 mph were possible through 9 p.m.
The first round of storms came early Monday morning, May 27.

A fast-moving round of thunderstorm knocked power to thousands of New Jersey residents Thursday morning, May 23.
PSEG was reporting approximately 2,000 outages in Bergen County (1,156 in New Milford, 398 in Paramus); 2,341 in Essex County (983 in Caldwell, 448 in West Caldwell); 1,230 in Gloucester County (1,206 in Woodbury City).

Thousands of New Jersey residents were without power Thursday, April 4 following a nasty storm that brought gusty winds and heavy rain to the region on Wednesday, April 3.
As of 8 a.m., 8,000 Monmouth County residents were without power mainly in Freehold, Highlands, and Middletown (4,000), according to JCP&L.

Thousands of New Jersey residents were without power Sunday, Sept. 24, after Tropical Storm Ophelia.
Nearly 13,000 residents were without power Saturday, Sept. 23, but as of Sunday morning, that number was down to approximately 4,000.
