Montclair police are investigating reports of an attempted luring. The alleged victim said she was walking on South Park Street when she was approached by an unknown man in a car on May 27, Montclair Police Sgt. Terence Turner said. The driver said, “Hey come over to my car. Let me get your Snapchat," according to police. The victim refused, but the male then said, "Hey get in my car," Turner said. A Newark man was charged with assaulting a teen girl in a violent Montclair home invasion last month, authorities said Tuesday. Anthony L. Harper, 30, is accused of breaking into a Hillside Avenue apartment through an unlocked window and demanding money from a 17-year-old girl shortly before 3:30 p.m. Oct. 19, police said. A man accused of assaulting a 17-year-old girl during a Montclair burglary is being sought by police. The man demanded money from the girl at a home on Hillside Avenue around 3:30 p.m. Monday, Montclair police said. When she didn't agree, he assaulted her, then fled with a laptop and cell phone, according to authorities. The girl was taken to the hospital by a family member.
