A fundraiser has been launched to help keep Blade Barbershop open, as its owner Eli Simmons, battles several health issues. As of Tuesday, April 23, more than $1,000 has been raised. Simmons is facing hip surgeries, leaving him unable to work behind the chair, his son, Eli Simmons, Jr. said. Mychalczak was born in Orange and grew up in Maplewood and Short Hills, later attending McGill University and getting her Masters degree at Columbia University, her obituary reads.
