Irvington Woman Fatally Struck By Truck On Route 80:

A 27-year-old Irvington woman was fatally struck by a truck while she was standing by her disabled vehicle on the shoulder on Route 80 in Warren County on the morning of Monday, April 8, authorities said. At 8:21 a.m., a Honda was parked and disabled on the right shoulder of I-80 in Hardwick Township when a tractor trailer traveling east struck Valdaishi Simpkins, Jeffrey Lebron, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said. Simpkins sustained fatal injuries, Lebron said. The crash remains under investigation, Lebron said

A North Jersey man already facing time in federal prison was sentenced to more time in State Prison for sexually abusing a teen Boy Scouts of America counselor in training nearly a decade ago. Authorities: 15-Year-Olds In Stolen Car Lead Route 80 Police Pursuit Through Multiple Towns
Three 15-year-olds were in a vehicle stolen out of Jersey City when they lead police on a pursuit through multiple towns last month. Officers had just stopped the speeding vehicle on Barkers Mill Road in Independence Township when the driver once again sped away in a Sept. 30 incident, township police said. 'Pray For NJ': 70-Acre Wildfire Burns Along Popular Mount Tammany Hiking Trail
State and federal firefighting agencies battled a wildfire that spread across nearly 70 acres of a popular hiking trail on the New Jersey side of the Delaware Water Gap and was still burning Monday morning. The fire was reported Sunday afternoon in Hardwick Township's Worthington State Forest off Mount Tammany's Red Dot Trail, and could be seen from Route 80.
