Stuck In The Mud: Rescuers Retrieve Three Stranded In Hackensack River
Rescuers had to retrieve a trio of boaters who got stuck in the low-tide mud in the Hackensack River. The three got stuck near dusk Tuesday just off River Road in Teaneck. Teaneck firefighters brought them to shore. Also responding were firefighters from Hackensack and River Edge, with Bogota firefighters providing coverage in Teaneck.

Jersey City Moves Forward With Largest Mixed-Income Development Site In Tri-State Area
The first phase of the redevelopment plan for Jersey City's Bayfront property -- the largest mixed-income development site in the region -- was announced Tuesday amid the coronavirus pandemic. The Bayfront Redevelopment Plan will transform the once contaminated site along the Hackensack Riverfront into the centerpiece of the West Side revitalization, Innovate JC said in a release. Fatal Crash: Motorcyclist Ejected Off Route 3 Bridge Into Hackensack River
A 28-year-old motorcyclist from Paterson was killed late Tuesday when he was ejected off a Route 3 bridge into the Hackensack River in Secaucus, responders said. Firefighters from Secaucus and East Rutherford recovered the body of the as-yet unidentified victim near the Clarion Empire Meadowlands Hotel south of the bridge about a half-hour after the 11 p.m. crash, they said. They also found his helmet. An ALS unit made the pronouncement. The highway was reopened around 4 a.m.

What began as a domestic incident at a Secaucus condo Sunday night turned into a shootout with police that left a man dead, authorities said. Following protocol, state Attorney General Gurbir S. Grewal said his office was investigation the police-involved shooting death in the 300 block of Sea Isle Key in Harmon Cove. Suicide Try: Man Found In Hackensack River Jumped From Route 46 Bridge, Little Ferry Police Say
UPDATE: A 47-year-old Palisades Park man pulled from the Hackensack River in Little Ferry Wednesday morning had jumped from the nearby Route 46 bridge moments earlier in an attempted suicide, authorities said. "He's expected to live," Detective Lt. Ronald Klein Jr. said. "He's just a little out of it."
