Brielle Alston, 31, ID'd As Newark Homicide Victim
A woman was fatally shot in Newark on Sunday, July 28, authorities said.
At 11:23 p.m., Newark police responded to 4th Avenue and North 12th Street where they found Brielle Alston, 31, suffering from a gunshot wound, Essex County Prosecutor Theodore Stephens, II and Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Frage said.
Alston was transported to University Hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 1:20 a.m., Stephens and Frage said.

Gunman Charged In Quadruple Ohio Murder Linked To 2013 NJ Homicide
A 41-year-old New Jersey native who last February was arrested in connection with a quadruple Ohio murder has been charged in a 2013 Camden County homicide as well, authorities said.
Martin Muniz, formerly of Camden, was charged on Monday, May 22, with first-degree murder in the shooting death of Jaime Molina, 45, of Camden, they said.

Trio Charged With Murder In 2019 Jersey City Shooting
Three individuals have been charged with murder in connection with a 2019 shooting, authorities in Hudson County announced.
Austin Be-Kwao, 25, Malcolm Horton, 36, and Khadijah Neal, 36, all of Newark, have been arrested in connection with the Sept. 3, 2019 shooting death of 31-year-old Lawrence Reid in Jersey City, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said.
Reid was found having suffered a gunshot wound on Wegman Parkway between Bergen Avenue and Martin Luther King Drive around 12:50 a.m., Suarez said.
