20-Year-Old Killed In Newark Shooting: Prosecutors A 20-year-old Newark resident was fatally shot on Wednesday, Jan. 24, authorities said. At 6:53 p.m., police responded to a report of a shooting on the 100 block of Irvine Turner Boulevard, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore Stephens, II and Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said.  Officers found Nasir Dudley suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, Stephens and Fragé said. The discovery was made around noon Saturday, Jan. 20 in Weequahic Park in Newark, a spokesperson for the Essex County Prosecutor's Office said. No further information was released. The investigation remains active. Located in the city's South Ward, Weequahic Park spans more than 311 acres and features New Jersey's first golf course, according to the county parks' website.
