Eddie Negron, Longtime North Jersey Detective, Dies At 46
Eddie Negron, a longtime police officer who worked in East Newark and the Essex County Prosecutor's Office, died on Saturday Feb. 10 in Philadelphia at the age of 46, according to his obituary. Born in Hoboken, Negron joined the East Newark Police Department in July 1998 and moved to the Essex County Prosecutor's Office as a detective in 2005, later achieving the rank of sergeant. DUI East Newark Officer Hits Parked Car While On Duty In Harrison: Police
An on-duty East Newark police officer asleep at the wheel was arrested in Harrison for driving under the influence and hitting a parked car last month, authorities said. At 6 a.m., Friday, Jan. 26, Harrison police responded to Frank E. Rogers Boulevard and Sherman Avenue on a report of a police car striking a parked vehicle, Harrison Police Detective Sgt. Edward Negron battled many criminals. But the toughest fight of his life had nothing to do with any bad guys: COVID-19.
