Glen Rock DPW Worker Injured When Bobcat Tips
A Glen Rock DPW worker was hospitalized Thursday after a Bobcat mini excavator he was operating at the borough landfill tipped onto its side, Police Chief Dean Ackermann said. The 40-something worker was belted in when the mishap occurred at the facility off Doremus Avenue around 1:30 p.m. July 27, the chief said. He suffered trauma and a cut on his left leg, Ackermann said. Police: Thieves Steal SUV Left Unlocked In Glen Rock With Keys Inside, Crash On GS Parkway
A Glen Rock resident who left an SUV unlocked – with the keys inside – got it back in much different shape, authorities said. Whoever took off with the 2006 Honda Pilot also rummaged through another vehicle that was also left unlocked in the Doremus Avenue homeowner's driveway, Police Chief Dean Ackermann said. The keys, three folding sports chairs and some old clothing was taken from that vehicle, he said. Accused Glen Rock DPW Vehicle Thief Charged In Car Burglary Released Again
A Glen Rock man who was freed to await trial after borough police charged him with stealing two DPW vehicles and burglarizing a house was arrested for breaking into cars -- after which a judge let him go once again. Colin H. McCann, 38, had been ordered released by a judge pending trial after borough detectives arrested him last month for the DPW thefts, as well as a Doremus Avenue burglaries, thefts from unlocked vehicles and thefts of bicycles.
