: Plate Indentation Helps Glen Rock Police ID Hit-And-Run Vehicle
A motorist literally made an impression that helped Glen Rock police crack a hit-and-run crash that injured another driver, authorities said. A 48-year-old borough man had stopped for a pedestrian in a crosswalk on Rock Road just east of Main Street when his 2012 Honda Accord was rear-ended by a black Jeep that fled the scene, Police Chief Dean Ackermann said. The driver was taken to The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood with injuries that weren’t considered life-threatening after the 6:42 p.m. crash last Thursday, Oct. 20, the chief said. Detectives were investigating racially biased Instagram posts by a Glen Rock High School student when the teenage bigot struck again, this time targeting another classmate over gender identity on Zoom, authorities said. Flight Club: Fair Lawn Thief Gets 'Kicks' From Worn Shoes, Glen Rock Police Say
A Fair Lawn man was caught with used shoes, sneakers and cleats stolen from the front porches of several Glen Rock homes, authorities said. Officers Jim Donnelly tracked down 21-year-old Richard Larrivieri after a Henry Street victim provided a description of a him and the license plate number of the car he was driving, Police Chief Dean Ackermann said. Larrivieri was carrying shoes stolen from the home, as well as several other pairs of beaters apparently taken from other residents, the chief said. NO HARM: Man In SUV Who Tried Talking To Girls Wasn't Up To No Good, Glen Rock Police Find
UPDATE: An elderly driver who pulled up to two young Glen Rock girls and said something they couldn't understand wasn't up to no good, police said. After interviewing adult witnesses, Detective Lucas Doney identified and found the SUV driver, Police Chief Dean Ackermann said. "While this incident was understandably concerning to all of us, our investigation has confirmed that no criminal act was committed," the chief said.
